Russ Romano, MA, ATC, FAFS, is the Director of Operations of Athletic Medicine, Associate Athletic Director, and Head Athletic Trainer. He holds a master’s degree in biomechanics and a bachelor of arts degree in athletic training from San Diego State University, and completed a fellowship in applied functional science at the Gray Institute of Functional Transformation as well as certification in Owens Recovery Science blood flow restriction.
Russ Romano has specialized in care of USC Trojan athletes for more than three decades. In addition to providing medical care for USC student athletes, he has authored/co-authored articles published in peer reviewed journals, has served as an associate editor for Neurosurgery in the sports and rehabilitation section and has also reviewed journal manuscripts for World Neurosurgery, Neurosurgery, Journal of Athletic Training and the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
