Makerere University School of Public Health
Makerere University is one of the largest and oldest universities in Africa. It is ranked among the top universities on the continent. It has a student body of about 30,000 undergraduates and 3,000 postgraduates. Makerere faculty and students partner with GRIT Lab investigators on multiple research, training and public health programming projects.
Children’s Chance International
Children’s Chance International (CCI-Uganda) is an NGO based in Lira District, Northern Uganda, aimed at empowering youth, women, orphans and other vulnerable children through life skills training, livelihood support, provision of educational opportunities, rehabilitation and post-conflict reconstruction support. GRIT Lab collaborates with CCI-Uganda on the implementation of the Youth Public Health Ambassadors program and soccer and health camps.
Energy in Action
Energy in Action is a non-profit organization that harnesses the power of sports and the arts to promote education, health, and global citizenship among youth. Energy in Action aids in the mobilization of public health volunteers in Uganda and helps to fundraise to support implementation of programs implemented by other GRIT Lab partners.
Swim Safe Uganda
Swim Safe Uganda (SSU) has been promoting water safety through various training workshops and campaigns for nearly a decade. Their aim is to ensure professionalism, efficiency and quality services among lifeguards/and pool attendants in Uganda. SSU partners with GRIT Lab on the development and implementation of drowning prevention research and programming.
Project Elimu
Project Elimu is an NGO based in Kibera, Kenya, aimed at empowering and providing a safe space for youth, women, orphans and other vulnerable children through after-school arts and education. GRIT Lab collaborates with Project Elimu on the implementation of dance and Youth Public Health Ambassador programming.
