I think all my assigned modules are complete–how can I confirm this?

You may check my.usc.edu to check if you have any assigned modules that are incomplete. For the online modules, you should see completed modules in the “My Transcript” area of Trojan Learn.

I’m a student in an online degree program—do I have to take this training?

Yes, online degree program students are required to complete modules assigned to them. 

I completed a similar training during undergrad at another institution, do I have to take this one?

Yes, you are required to complete the requirements as a current USC student. This specific training module includes policies, processes, and resources specific to USC.

I am a survivor with experiences that would be the basis to exempt me from the content of one or more of the Sexual Assault Prevention or Consent and Healthy Relationships modules. Who should I contact? 

If you are a survivor with experiences that would be the basis to qualify for an exemption, and alternative option for completing this requirement, please complete Exemption Request Form. Note for first year undergraduates—if you are apply for and are granted an exemption from SAPu, you will be automatically also be exempted from CHR1 Trojans Respect Consent.

For all other SAP and CHR modules, you must complete the Exemption Request Form for each PEM that you would like to request an exemption for.

I am completing my degree this fall semester, do I have to complete this module?

Yes, you are advised to complete the training by the deadline, as incomplete requirements will place a hold on your account for any future registration and may also result in a fine added to your account.

What happens if I don’t complete this module by the required deadline?

A registration hold will be applied to your student account; you will not be able to add classes or register for the following semester.

What is the difference between the various Preventative Education Modules (PEMs)?

For undergraduate students, there are five PEMs that each student must take during their enrollment at USC. Four PEMs are online self-paced modules assigned to incoming undergraduates. The fifth PEM is a live session via Zoom that must be taken yearly for any undergraduate in years 1, 2, and 3 of their time at USC.

For graduate students, there are three PEMs that each student must take, which are all online, self-paced modules assigned to incoming graduate students. Graduate students are also assigned ongoing sexual assault prevention modules throughout their enrollment at USC.

What do I do if I need an accommodation to take these modules?

There will be a form available for you to fill out to be reviewed by the Office of Institutional Accessibility and ADA Compliance (OIA). If approved, you will be provided a transcript of the module and once the learning as ben attested to, you will be marked compliant. The form will be available shortly.

Questions regarding the CHR Live Sessions

Help! I signed up for a session but haven’t received the remote link.

Students will receive the remote link at midnight on the day of the session. Please email required@usc.edu if you do not receive the remote link on the session day. Please do not share or distribute the remote link with others.

Why was I marked incomplete? I attended a session but received a notification that I missed it.

As stated by the facilitator at the beginning of a session, students who fail to participate will be marked as incomplete. The completion of the session requires students to stay involved and participate. Please sign up for a different session and actively attend to complete your requirements.
