Casandra Walker

About me:
Casandra Walker is a 4th year PhD Candidate from Vallejo, CA studying Molecular Pharmacology/Toxicology in Dr. Martine Culty’s lab. Her thesis project focuses on investigating the effects of environmentally relevant doses of endocrine-disruptor mixtures on male reproductive pathologies such as infertility. Casandra’s long-term career goal is to become a reproductive toxicologist studying the effects of sickle cell therapeutics on male and female reproduction. Casandra is passionate about increasing diversity in STEM and providing support and resources for students from underrepresented groups. She is the Founder of Curls and Careers Incorporated a 501(c)(3) non-profit which focuses on equipping students and young adults from traditionally marginalized groups with the tools they need to thrive academically, professionally, and in the face of adversity. In her down time, Casandra can be found participating in her favorite hobbies including hiking, running, CrossFit and wine-tasting.
