Background
Founded and established in 2022 through student-led initiatives. The program was developed to create sustainable program that serves to increase diversity in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences professionals by exposing Los Angeles-area high school students from underrepresented groups to the fields of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences through hands-on activities. Our first SCOPE Saturday Academy scholars were nominated by our LAUSD partner high school teachers. Our scholars engaged in a six-week immersive program where they were able to develop their own mock pharmaceutical product, clinical skills, and laboratory techniques.
