Brittany Tarrant, MD developed a love for the human brain and mental health while studying Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park. That’s when she realized psychiatry would be a great fit. She completed her Master’s degree at Georgetown University and then earned her Doctor of Medicine degree at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C.
Brittany is board-certified in Adult Psychiatry and board-eligible for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She trained at UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior and Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital for both residency and fellowship. She is excited to be working in student mental health. Brittany is passionate about mental health and treating those who are often overlooked and forgotten in our society. She is dedicated to advancing the field of psychiatry through compassionate, thoughtful, and culturally humble care. She is committed to eliminating barriers to accessing care and de-stigmatizing mental illness.
Brittany’s clinical interests include treating a wide range of psychopathologies including: anxiety, psychotic and mood disorders, trauma, and special populations including people of color, women, children and young adults, gender and sexual minorities, veterans, and individuals involved in welfare and criminal legal systems.
