Embedded counselors are therapists who are conveniently located in your academic or cultural center. By being “embedded” in your unit’s building with a private office, embedded counselors better understand your community’s needs, culture, academic rigor, and more. They also stay connected with your school or group’s leadership to discuss overall wellness and mental health topics.
You can count on their confidentiality — even though embedded counselors are located in your building, they don’t talk to your professors, chairs, or deans about who their patients are.
