Director of Violence Prevention in Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention and Services, Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Assistant Professor of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Keck School of Medicine of USC

Dr. Schleicher’s career as a licensed psychologist has been devoted to the trauma-informed prevention and education of campus sexual violence. In her previous position at the University of California Los Angeles Rape Treatment Center, Dr. Schleicher served as the Campus and Community Outreach Coordinator facilitating educational presentations related to gender and power-based harm for college campuses throughout Los Angeles.

Her experience at the Rape Treatment Center included advocacy and accompaniment to medical/forensic exams, and trauma-informed training for investigators and detectives. Dr. Schleicher received certification in the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), which focuses on skills to help individuals experiencing toxic, trauma-induced stress reactions. Prior to working at the Rape Treatment Center, Dr. Schleicher was a Staff Psychologist at Loyola Marymount University and UCLA counseling centers, providing individual and group therapy services to graduate and undergraduate students.

Dr. Schleicher earned her PsyD from Alliant International University in San Francisco and her BS in psychology from San Diego State University. Her research focused on transitional-age youth emerging from the child welfare system. Since then, Dr. Schleicher’s passion for working with young adults has evolved to include focusing on the intersections of identity and systemic oppression that directly impacts student’s experiences of trauma, their mental health, and their overall wellbeing.

Dr. Schleicher enjoys hiking and spending time outside, reading fiction and nonfiction, yoga, and deems herself an amateur foodie with the popular reminder to “Live to eat, not eat to live.”
