Continuing Care During School Breaks
In-State Resources (Short Breaks)
Will you still be in California over the fall, winter, or spring break? Great! That means you can continue telehealth or in-person care with your USC Student Health therapist or health care provider. You will also have access our Therapy+ resources including Uwill, a teletherapy service that can connect you with a licensed therapist.
Schedule your student health appointments as usual, through MySHR, or by calling us at (213) 740-9355 (WELL). In-person facility hours during academic breaks may include earlier closure times (5 PM) and full-day closure on national holidays. Representatives are available by phone 24/7 at the WELL number.
Out of State Resources (Short Breaks)
Health care providers, including therapists, are only able to provide services in the states they are licensed to practice, so when you are outside of California, you will not be able to have a psychotherapy appointment with a Student Health clinician. But that doesn’t mean you don’t have access to support! Here are a few services you can access no matter where you are. Once you return to campus after fall, winter, or spring break, you can pick right back up with your in-person or telehealth providers!
- Let’s Talk: 30 minute non-clinical conversations with a mental health provider.
- Oasis Chat: A free app for USC students that includes a 24/7 chat service.
- Nod: A free app for USC students with resources on building connection, goal setting, and more.
If you still care questions, reach out to us at (213) 740-9355 (WELL) or send us a chat on studenthealth.usc.edu and we can assist you.
Summer Break Resources
If you would like to see your USC Student Health care team over the summer and plan to stay in California, you can opt-in for the Summer Student Health Fee. This fee will allow you to keep seeing your therapist as well as your care team at campus locations or through telehealth. The Summer Student Health Fee is available to all USC students, including current year May graduates. See the associated costs.
If you are still enrolled as a student but are not paying the summer health fee, you can still access these Therapy+ resources:
- Oasis Chat: A free app for USC students that includes a 24/7 chat service.
- Nod: A free app for USC students with resources on building connection, goal setting, and more.
Don’t forget to review your health care checklist before summer starts!
