Geothermal

Geothermal energy is a sustainable renewable resource that is provided by “earth’s heat.” The most geothermal regions lie on the earth’s cracks and faults. It ranks as the third most used source of renewable energy after hydropower and biomass energy production. The United States has a geothermal electricity capacity of 3000 megawatts which is equal to burning 60 million barrels of oil each year. This is enough energy for up to 3.5 million homes.
